Jimmy Kimmel’s youngest son is celebrating a new milestone.
The Jimmy Kimmel Live! host, 58, celebrated his son Billy’s 9th birthday on Instagram on Tuesday, April 21, alongside a photo of what appeared to be the little boy on a fishing trip. In the snap, Billy could be seen in a rain jacket with a matching beanie, smiling widely as he held up a fish to the camera.
Alongside the picture, Kimmel wrote, “Our boy Billy turns 9 today and is doing great, thanks to the doctors, nurses, therapists, and many more at @ChildrensLA & @CedarsSinai.”
“CHLA trains medical staff to save kids all over the world. If you can, please make a donation of $9 to support critical health care for kids - the link is in my bio - thank you. #CatchAndRelease,” he added.

It’s been Kimmel’s tradition to highlight the work at local hospitals that have helped his son — who was born in 2017 with a congenital heart disease — continue to keep his health up over the years. Along with his birthday posts, he also encourages fans to donate to the hospital to help kids like Billy, who are struggling with their health.
Congenital heart disease happens when there is one or more problems with the heart structure that are present at birth, according to Mayo Clinic. This can include missing or partially formed structures in the heart, and it affects 1 in 110 babies, per the Children’s Heart Foundation.
Over the years, Kimmel — who also shares daughter Jane, 10, with wife Molly McNearney, as well as daughter Katie, 33, and son Kevin, 31, with ex-wife Gina Maddy — has shared updates on Billy’s health.

During the iHeartPodcast Politickin' in August 2024, the TV host revealed that his son was "doing great" following his third open heart surgery in May of that same year, and said, "you'd never know other than the scar on his chest" that Billy had the surgery.
"He's a very funny kid, he's totally fine now. Hopefully, he'll never have to have another surgery of any kind thanks to the Children's Hospital in L.A., which is a great hospital," he added.
He shared a snap several months earlier showing Billy smiling in a hospital bed, along with the caption, “This weekend, our boy Billy had his third (of three, we hope) open heart surgery.”

“We went into this experience with a lot of optimism and nearly as much fear and came out with a new valve inside a happy, healthy kid," Kimmel continued, before thanking medical staff, strangers, family and friends.
The father of four added, “Thank you to my wife Molly for being stronger than is reasonable for any Mom to be and Billy, you are the toughest (and funniest) 7 year-old we know."
