Hanna and Haley Cavinder are not exempt from a sibling fight here or there

Chatting with PEOPLE ahead of their one-on-one matchup on BetMGM's Court of Legends on April 5, the sisters share how they've kept basketball in their lives post-college graduation

They also reveal the funny way that they settle their sibling arguments

Though Hanna and Haley Cavinder have over five million social media followers between them for their twin content, the two women are, in many respects, like any other pair of sisters. While they'd be the first to say that they are each other's biggest supporters, it comes with sibling territory to engage in a few fights here or there. However, for the Cavinder twins, whose resumes boast impressive college basketball careers, settling sibling arguments often meant (and still means) getting a little bit of extra practice in. As the two prepare to face off for the first time on livestream for BetMGM's Court of Legends experience, they reflect on the subtle ways they've kept basketball a part of their lives."We used to do this growing up for who wants to do the dishes, who wants to do laundry," Hanna reveals. "We'd be going play basketball one-on-one outside on our court every day."

As their social media followings grew after starting their TikTok page at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the twin influencers would take to TikTok live and set challenges for each other. If Hanna wanted Haley to drive to there and back to school, they'd play a quick game of 1:1 to figure out who would do it.

It's just one of the many ways that the two, who graduated following the 2024-25 season after playing out their final year of NCAA eligibility at the University of Miami, have kept their sport in their life even though they no longer play it professionally.

The two also reflected on the moment they realized that basketball would no longer be a part of their lives in the way that it once was."It was heartbreaking," Haley says. "Basketball was my identity for 24 years. So being able to just understand this year is a chapter of growth and understanding what life without basketball looks like for us."At the center of their post-college goals is something that they've carried with them throughout the entirety of their basketball careers: helping young women build confidence and working to uplift them.

"It's the most fulfilling thing," Hanna says. Being able to help girls, especially within health and fitness or basketball when they come up to you and just ask for advice and things. We struggled with that at a young age, so having role models to look up is something that we pride ourselves in."

"Whether it's basketball or just giving your advice and having such a big platform, I think we have a huge responsibility to encourage and uplift girls," Haley says."Other girls will come to us for advice," she shares. "That's just a big responsibility when you have a platform. We are going through the exact same things as all these other girls. I love doing it and just connecting with so many people online that we would never have the reach to without our platforms."
