It's hell on heels in the first official footage from *The Devil Wears Prada 2*.

A first official look at Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep's highly anticipated onscreen reunion premiered Wednesday online. The blockbuster sequel's debut teaser trailer dropped to the sounds of Madonna's "Vogue," which also played a seminal soundtrack role in the David Frankel-directed 2006 original.

The clip begins with the opening notes of Madonna's hit single, all while a pair of studded red heels clack through an office building.

It's eventually revealed that the heels belong to Streep's ruthless Miranda Priestly, who enters an elevator in the fictional *Runway* magazine office.

The door briefly stops, as Hathaway enters in character as Andy Sachs, who first appeared in the original film as an aspiring journalist who begrudgingly took a job under Priestly despite having zero interest (or knowledge of) the fashion world.

"Miranda," Hathaway says to Streep, entering the elevator. It's a scene that directly references another from the beginning of the first movie: A scared *Runway* employee *exits* an elevator that Priestly enters, so as not to disturb her morning ascent to the office.

"Took you long enough," Streep responds to Hathaway, as the latter puts on a pair of sunglasses to match her in-office attire.

The clip then ends with the names of the returning cast — including Streep, Hathaway, Stanley Tucci, and Emily Blunt, all of whom ** previously exclusively reported would reprise their roles — flashing on screen.

The teaser additionally touted the film's May 1 theatrical release date, which is set to coincide almost 20 years to the day with the original film's debut.
