Dolly Parton captivated the crowd during the 16th Governors Awards despite skipping the ceremony.

The Ray Dolby Ballroom in Ovation Hollywood in Los Angeles lit up with stars dazzling in their red carpet looks.

Unfortunately, the "Jolene" hitmaker missed the annual event due to medical reasons.

The music icon was one of the four influential figures named Oscar honorees alongside Tom Cruise, Debbie Allen and Wynn Thomas. However, since she is still recovering from health issues, she could not personally accept the honorary award.

Instead, she kept things professional with an unexpected move that captured attention.

During the event, the Queen of Country expressed her deep gratitude through a pre-recorded video as she accepted the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award.

Introduced by award-winning actress Lily Tomlin, the short clip featured a throwback video of the 79-year-old icon while discussing her humble childhood in Tennessee.

Parton began her message by thanking her "buddy" Lily Tomlin for presenting her with the award.

"I also want to thank the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for this great honor," she continued, adding, "I grew up in a house with 12 kids. Now that alone teaches you how important sharing is. Don't get me wrong, we didn't have that much to share, but my mama and daddy showed me that the more you give, the more blessings come your way. And I have tried my whole life to live by their example and I have been blessed more than I ever dreamed possible, like with this award tonight."

According to her, it is an "honor to be considered for such a title, but being able to receive it is a blessing of a lifetime."

"From my heart to yours, I truly thank you," she concluded the speech.

Parton's video message garnered cheers from the crowd as well as praise from online users.

"Even Dolly's video acceptances feel more genuine than half the room, but an honorary Oscar given over Zoom still shows how much of the Governors Awards has turned into a formality rather than an event that actually matters," a fan commented on Variety's post on X.

"Love her. Always," another added.

Besides the speech, Parton was also honored in a special way with a performance by Andra Day, who covered her 1973 hit song "Jolene."

Dolly Parton Health Update

The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer canceled her public appearance during a September event in her Tennessee theme park called Dollywood.

In a video message, she mentioned that due to her kidney stone, she was advised by her doctor to refrain from traveling.

Besides this, Parton also postponed her Las Vegas residency due to "health challenges," a source close to her told PEOPLE, adding that the music icon "is at home taking care of herself while many friends and family visit her."
